Have got my engine ready to upgrade but have been told by one insurer that most won't touch a vehicle with a larger engine than standard without a huge increase in premium.Anybody any experience of this.Thanks.

I am with Aidrian Flux; my van has been changed from a 1.6td to 1.9tdi but this does not seem to be of any consequence; they asked me for engine size and i told them; they did not flag up that it was not standard and nobody asked me if the van was modified; some people might not even be in a position to know their vans had been changed?
I suspect its another case of reading the small print !

i had the exact same problem, really struggled to find anybody that would take a 'modified' van.
Speak to Paul at Glynwood. They were great at sorting it out.

Hi Al,
I use Glynwoods in Redditch, and they have been fine with alternative motor in both my Syncro's.
Will you drop by to the event in July ? It'd be good to see you.
Andy

Thanks to you all.I've just had word off Adrian Flux that there would be no change to my premium which is great news.I'd better get on with the conversion.
I'm hoping to drop by, Andy, seeing as it's right on my doorstep. Both my lads are Downhill racing that weekend (only about 10 miles away) and since for the youngest it's his first race since breaking his femur last summer (ouch) I really want to be there. There is a ceilidh near Llanfyllin Sat evening with Hog roast which we're playing if anybody's up for a dance-usually loads of fun.I'll try to drop by at some point though.
