Idle speed adjustment

My idle speed is a little low after a carb refrub from gasure. No problem there at all, had great service from Steve. I want to adjust it and have my haynes manual and it suggested that I should disconect the carb idle stablisation unit and plug the two ends together and then adjust the idle by turning the idle speed screw located on top of the left carb, next to the 1" black pipe that goes to the air filter.

Right so I tried that but it wouldnt speed up. I didnt turn it much, so what I am asking here is what direction do I turn the screw? and by how much should pick the revs up a little?

Cheers guys :?:

Turn it out...anti clock wise to speed up, turn in to slow down. Me thinks :ok If you are talking 2.0 litre air cooled

On the pierburg 2e3 carb it's clockwise to increase idle and anti-clockwise to decrease it.

what about for a 1.9 watercooled dg? and also what increase would a quarter turn give?

the 1.9 DG wbx comes with a pierburg carb as standard iirc. Looks like this

Alberts an Aircooled I think... turn it some more....... Normally its clockwise to increase... on the 2L you have to do a little on either carb at a time... then check its ok by pulling the idle cut off valve conector on each carb in turn...

2E3 on the DG.. turn it clockwise... turn it a bit and see... it would be purely a guess that 1/4 turn would give 137rpm increase....

Air Cooled it is!

Pull the idle cut off valve connectors! what before you adjust each carb - where are they? and I though that joining the idle stabelisation unit plug thingys together meant you only have to do the lefthand carb?

Cheers
