What's the easiest way to adjust the play in the clutch pedal.

After changing the master cylinder for a GSF one I seem to have no play where as before there was quite a bit.
Many thanks Rob.

On a hydraylic system there should be very little play, about 0.5 - 1.0mm is about right IIRC.
There is an adjuster though. Its above the master cylinder. You know that pin you had to line up in the top of the cylinder... That's it!
There's a locknut at the top of the pin, just loosen the locknut and turn the pin to the desired length.
Only problem is getting to it. If you have double joints, bendy arms and a rubber backbone then go for it!
If you havn't... I wouldn't bother!

Yep its a frelling pain to get at..... you only need the smallest amount of freeplay... if there isnt any... then you will have to adjust a fraction... it could be holding slight pressure on the clutch which could lead to wear it out quick....

As there is no play I'm going to have to adjust it.
Anyone done it and how?
Rob.

As VW camperfan said....
Did you fit the master cyl??? it may be as easy to remove it to make a little more space... I had to adjust the other way as far too much play... it really is a pig to do...

Yes I fitted it myself and even with it removed I couldn't get my hands up there.

You can only get a finger and a spaner on it from what I remember.... its a complete a***......
maybe we should swap master cyls... I had too much play couldnt adjust it all out as there wasnt enough thread on the bar....
Other option would be to remove the bolts and file/dremel the mounting slots longer... (why didnt I think of that when I did mine!!!!!)

I just read something on Brickyard and Baxter says he uses sockets welded together so I might give that a try.
What size the nut?
