Missfire...

I've got this lovely strong quiet T25 sitting here... it starts beautifully, and runs nicely, but as soon as you whack your food down, it missfires and stutters and stumbles... it makes overtaking and pulling out of junctions hard... it will cruise at 70, but gets upset when you put it up a long hill!

Plugs look new (3 prong things), Cap and rotor are new, leads are expensive metal end jobs and look good, all vacume pipes are new, and vac advance unit was replaced today, so timing has been set properly... fuel filter isnt blocked...

it will rev freely when parked, but has this prolem under load... it a 1.9 DG....

Any suggestions please? (before I replace everything!)

I dont usually ask... but its driving me mad!

Is the rotor arm the solid type or rev limiting???? Are you using Bosch plugs???

It was the revlimting type... I removed it and put a standard one in... no difference!

The plugs are not Bosch... They would be my choice... but it came with these... can they really make that much difference?

Sounds like the spark is weak. You could try a different ignition module and after that a different coil. Igntion modules are used on Golfs etc so fairly easy to pick up.
