Increasing ground clearance with suspension mods.

Hi guys,
I have a 14" syncro with a set of 16" wheels on it with 215/65 tyres on them. I have decent enough ground clearance but I want more! Is there any relatively easy ways of raising the suspension that work well? Any suggestions at all would be very much appreciated.

3 choices:
1. There was a guy selling them on ebay Germany
2. Seikel themselves (unlikely unless you are a trader)
3. Bernd Jaegar...

Non of wich is cheap.
There is no cheap way of doing this only a cheaper and a very costyl way.

You could always buy a pair of rear spring spacers from CJ. They're a factory item on pickups... basically a 10mm plastic ring which sits under the spring.
Not a huge increase but bang per buck.. its pretty good.

See now thats the type of thinking Im after! I thought diesel T25 syncros had some sort of spacing gizmo already though didnt they?

Spring spacers will take your shocks towards the top of their travel and will not give you any improved flexibility off road. If you're looking for *actual* functionality improvements then you will *actually* need to spend proper money rather than putting on some mickey-mouse device that VW stuck on there to compensate for the diesel engine weighing more than the petrol...... your choice though.

The VW spacers were only fitted to TD's not petrol syncros erelevant wether they were pickups or not.As Tomas says this was to compensate
for the extra weight in td engine(instead of using two different factory springs)otherwyse the rear end sags down a bit.This off course would not be a good thing when trying to sell a syncro td on the forecourt when new.

I doubt that 10mm is going to "actually" make the shocks "top out". If you have a load of stuff in the van which is weighing it down "like a TD syncro" then it would be the sensible thing to do... if vw did it would it not Thomas?
You can get CJ on 07808 200623. I think they're fairly cheap.
