can someone tell me which is the best drive away awning to purchase. I like the look of the JK spacemaker, but theres that many to choose from i'm lost. Having been a camper i presumed that an awning with built in ground sheet would be best, but not a lot of them have this.
I've alos noticed on here that a lot of them seem to rip so what is the best way top attach to van, someone has told me the suction pads are the best.
Any help would be appreciated... :run

Assuming your looking at the Spacemaker I guess you need sleeping space for a family overnight and not just a day awning???

Well as an ex-owner of a Spacemaker I can say ... great idea but cr@p manufacture. They leak through the seams where the sewn in groundsheet is joined to the bottom of the tent so you get some lovely puddles inside! Plus general poor stictching here and there which is worring that it'll rip in high winds. Sent mine back got a refund!

As a current owner of Kyham Motordome sleeper, another great idea but poorly put together. The knuckles on the sleeping area pole break too easily (did 2 on our fist trip!!) the sleeping area is left exposed when the van side of the awning is open and if you use a ground sheet you can't peg the sleeping area out unless you want to put pegs through the grounsheet! Guy lines need to go at funny angles so you can get the van attached.

Personally I don't think there is a best sleeper awning yet, they all seem to have faults be it techincal or just to small!

Pole and clamp along the gutter rail I would say is the best but there's lots who use J-rail a quick search should reveal more info.
