Radiator fan

mine isn't working checkfuse check relays i think i found the right one??

its a single speed fan but isnt recieving power i havent got round to shorting he fan to make sure thats the problem yet.

the thermo switch wont even trigger any ideas?? i hate electrics!!!!

I dont think the single speed fan has a relay. ( waiting to be corrected :D )
Check the earthing points behind the fuse box.

Power comes through fuse 1, to the temp switch on the rad, short the two wires on the switch and see if you get voltage at the fan.

Dont short the fan!!!!!

With a single speed it should be easy just to short the two wires going into the thermo switch: if the fan works then it's the thermo switch that is cream crackered (quite a common failure)

How do you know it isnt working??? is the rad getting really hot to touch at the bottom??
The temp gauge has to get right over to more than 3/4 before my early petrol caravelle fires up the fan... and everything is working fine...
there is 17 odd L of coolant in these vehicles.. which means it take a lot to get them hot.. unless there is a flow/Tstat problem... which isnt fan/switch related..
My later petrol Syncro fires the fan up very often at no more than half though...

Need to short out the connections to test run the fan.. check there is voltage there first though...
