Hey guys,

I have a leaking sunnie - gonna check it out tomorrow, but I've got afeeling it's going to need more than sealing with window sealer from below. If \I need to remove, clean and re-fit, what product is best to site the sun-roof? No nails? Or is that too harsh?! Silicone sealer won't do it alone will it?

If you give us a photo clue of the type/make of Sunroof you own ,may just help us to make useful suggestions rather than us offering you nonsensical advice......

Don't use silicone whatever you do, use sikaflex or tigerseal or some other pu adhesive sealant.

WIll try and get some picks up today.

Are they seam-sealers? SO I'm guessing I should use those AFTER I've adhered the sunnie to the van?

Yes I agree I recently discovered Unibond Window and Frame Sealant which I believe is Polyeurethane based. You can tell this because it needs White spirit to remove while wet and if not leaves skin grubby for a week until new clean skin comes through. It sicks like poo to a blanket. But whatever you decide to use make it better by masking off the no glue cosmetic areas with masking tape, abrade the adhesive area with 800 grade wet or dry (use dry) and leave on while working. then wet your finger to smooth off the fillet and peal off the tape before the adhesive sets. Right first time please as further fiddling will just make it worse.
Cheers

they are flexible adhesive, use it as glue and sealent. remove sun roof, clean very well, clean again, then one more time. put a load of sika or tiger seal around the thing, sit it in place, wiggle about for good seal and position, if needed put something on top to hold in place and do not let it get wet for a good amount of time. once it's gone off you can use the same stuff to neaten up round the edges! it's great stuff
