whats dripping

not long had our 88 syncro an we were looking at putting some new tyres on it only to find it is dripping from the bottom of the gear box :cry: .Has it run there from somewhere? not oil as it is golden coloured and feels like brake fluid and dries on ur finger anyone any idea of whats leaking thanks :ok

Are you sure it not Gear oil??

Leaking clutch slave cylinder perhaps? look on top of the bell housing (about 11 'o' clock on a petrol engine) as viewed from the top, engine hatch.

Mr Kezboosnes. Def not oil as is not an oily fliud, feels more like hydro or brake fluid. I'll check the slave cylinder tomorrow, hope it's not in the same state as the one one my van, it's just a big blob of rust with an ironic rubber bleed nipple on the top, if it's the part your onabout. I'm afraid i'm new to the layout of these vans as I only really worked on Aircooled buses. Cheers for the help :)
