is there any more news on these springs that were talked about a while ago?

Which ones?
I just got prices for aftermaket replacements.

Front - £30+vat
Rear - 88.5 +vat
both prices are each.

None in yet, just trying to get sorted with importer, they are having a few legal wranglings with their new building, so sorting a couple of sets of springs isn't top of their priority list yet, but they will get to me soon.

Prices aren't set in stone yet, but from initial enquiry they will be around that.

These springs, I am told come off the same production line as the originals did and are miniblock rears.

I have the 2wd springs on the front of my Syncro and find them a bit soft. Are these new ones your getting in stiffer but same length as the 2wd?

Ahhh just like god intended. I put 2wd ones on mine, lasted half a day before i put my shagged ones back on as they were miles better

Looked at the Seikel springs but they are ridiculously expensive.

The 30mm lift kit from Syncro Services sorted mine out for now till Baxter gets these new springs in. Then it will be the kit on the new springs and bandy camber, tracking and topped out shocks

Sounds like a few people want some, should help with the order.

Seikles are not as stiff as everyone (who has never had a van with Seikles) makes them out to be.
And when you look at the price they are actualy very well priced for whot you get. Suspension is a key part of any vehicle and should be bugeted as such.
People spend £250 to £350 on a set of seats (second hand) or £250 on a set of square head lights(second hand) or £450 on a wheel carrier but windge at the price of seikle's.
Peoples preception and knowledge of price and importance needs the rethink here.

I should quantify. I looked at the springs and all the other bits I think I need to complete the conversion and it all came to more than I have to spend.

You know I'm willing to spend a fortune on my toys Russell. You end up with most of it when I do spend. The main problem for me is that the boss is now keeping a very close eye on the readies so I can't sneak the odd £1000 or 2 out from under her nose. Makes life very difficult.

I would have them on my doka any day above any other spring they are the most tested and proven spring out there and even better than the original VW ones.
On a heavy camper you can still compress them to their limit and on a lighter vehicle they are great. I have had them on a 16 caravelle and on my gold exp. vehicle and on bothe of them nothing else would come close.
As with so many other thing about these vehicles most of the coments(advice) is given on hear say and not experience.

well maybe Bricky should be getting the springs made "not as stiff as people think" as seikels then...

That would just be reinventing the wheel then with no track record.
The other thing with the seikles is that they are the highest quality. I have never seen one broken and have only heard of one break in the late eightys and straight after that Peter Seikle had the manufacturing proses changed.Since then to the best of my knowledge no one has broken one.
