Hi,
Looking at the fuel lines on the van and they are in dire need of being replaced. I believe they are high pressure lines. 8mm in diameter. They have printed on them SAE 100 and 5/16. What I want to know is where is the best place to get new high pressure fuel line (and clamps). I am guessing that the fuel line will need to be primed once I replace them as it is fuel injected and has a return line. How do I do this on the VR6? I know I should get a Corrado manual as that is where the engine came from.

A good local motor factors should have the hose on a reel.. if they can only offer it in 1M precut lenghts... they aint much cop and it will cost more...
You could of course go to your local VW parts dept...

Might be worth seeing if Brickworks has it....

Priming... No... switch ignition on... wait for fuel pump to stop... it will (should) automatically "prime" it.. Oh.. make sure all the connections are done up......

Bought some fuel line today and only realised after that it is standard stuff. Nothing like what is in it already. Softer. Scared to use it. Will need to order over the net I think.

The stuff I normally get has the rating on the outside and states "fuel injection hose" rated around 6 or 8 bar IIRC.... its quite stiff and not easily compressed..

I got mine from VW in a 5m roll N10120701 at £10.20 I got several so might not be the right size one.

Good old Halfords parts dept sell really nice American Dunlop hose.

Phoned my motor factor and he said the stuff I bought is right for high pressure fuel injection systems. Said it goes to something like 165 psi.
