how do you fit a full width top locker from multivan???

Hi folks

recently purchased a full width top locker from a multivan, and i'm wanting to offer it up to my caravelle, but not too sure on fitting this
what would be needed, and if i drill etc, no fittments or brackets were included, and i'm really unsure what i'd need to fit this.

any ideas???? has anyone fitted a top locker to a multivan, or caravelle, not a pop or high top, Tin top model, is there specific points on the roof
that i need to drill without, drilling holes thru the roof ??

any help would be very much appreciated fella's fellaletts

cheers
Paul.

YI lad, I see your are from the Toon, I would have thought, as Rob suggests, that the top box, as in my van, was an integral part of the furniture.

If you need a look at how they are fitted in a westy, give me a shout, I am just down the coast in North Shields. :ok

Alright Guys

thanks for the feedback, I don't have any other furniture, just the top locker, not 100% sure its original westy but does look the part, as i say its a full width top locker so, not sure westy made them to fit, but was told it was an option in the multivan, can't quite work out how i'm going to fit this,

will speak to Alfie boy from bushaus, he may be able to help, seems to know alot, and sources them and other parts.

thanks for your help tho, on this matter, my heads a shed at the mo

cheers
Paul.

4 x 90 degree brackets from Bert & Quentins riveted/selftapped into the sides (there should be holes drilled on the top your unit) should do the trick. The inner roof side members are pretty big on these vans so u shoud be fine. The front ones may have to go into a roof rib, can't quite remember - sorry!!! :ok

The Joker ones are hung from L-shaped rod/bracket combinations which are tapped at one end.

Take a butchers at this http://t3-infos.de/images/Dachschrank_Mosaik-Joker.gif
Although that diagram only shows 2 fixings 4 would be more secure.

The bent bit of the rod engages in the holes that are in the van body, they can be found by pressing the headlining to find the dint.

The diagram came from a German T3 site - http://www.t3-info.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Look in the Campingausbau section.
Here is the text that goes with it and my translation (not word for word).

You must search for the 2 holes which have a 2cm diameter, they are in the crossbeam between the D-Pillars and 2 in frame between the C and D pillars.

Take 6mm studding, bend a hook on the end at approx. 75-80 grad. The length of the short part is approx. 3 cm long.
The other end you leave at between 5 - 10 cm (as required).

At the rear mount they are mounted through holes in the top locker and through the side they go through the brackets.

Hang the 4 "bolts" from the holes so that they line up with the top locker holes and fasten them with penny washers and self-locking nuts.

As I said before only 2 are used on this example but the author recommends 4.

The "bolts" are self-made out of M6 studding available at most DIY stores.
