Battery Discharge - Eberspacher??

Since having the eberspacher fitted i have been having minor issues in starting the van.
The control panel remains on permanantly in a sort of stand by mode. is this the cause of the battery discharging or should i look elsewhere for the reasons?
further to this the starter has always been on the laid back side, but usually quickly starts the van.
does any one have any pointers or do you have a switch which shuts off any draw from the battery to the Eberspacher
Hopefully this makes sense
thanks
Andy

Is your Eber not wired to your leisure battery?

The Eber can be wired to either battery ... it contains a low voltage cut out which comes into action before the level where the van won't start (in theory)
Our's
is wired to the leisure battery BTW
Ian.

I think that it is wired to the ignition which i guess means that it is to the main battery. will have a word with the fellow that fitted it.
Thanks for the responses.,

Wired to the ignition? what! so the Eber only works when the ignition is turned on? nerrrrrr surely not.
As for flattening the battery....they sure do....mine was always going flat..until I fitted an inline switch just behind the drivers seat. I now turn it on when needed, no flashing control panel and no flat batteries.

And the low voltage cut-out is rubbish too IMHO.
Every time mine has cut out there has been no chance of starting the engine.
Thats why i wire it up to a switch that can connect it to a 110ah leisure and the engine battery....
I have the manual dial control - and i've never had a flat battery because of it....
Fit a switch - sounds like it fixed Red Westies problem....

Well I knew 'retrospectively' that the previous owner had also been having problems with a flat leisure battery because the fuse had been removed from the feed to the Ebberspacher (2 fuses on the drivers B post) he had resorted to pulling the fuse to prevent the leisure going completely dead.
As I said...I fitted a heavy duty switch inline, just behind the drivers seat...jobs a goodun.

These Westies certainly seem to have their issues ...

At least anything that goes wrong with our's I know where (and
usually what) it is

I agree Ian....when you consider how logical and straight forward German engineering usually is, why then would they wire the camper lighting and radio to the starter battery circuit? and why....with the eber...wouldn't they not include an isolator switch when everyone I know who has one either removes the fuse or mods the circuit to save the leisure from going flat.
OR was it that they assumed a Camper would be driven daily?
Thankfully these custom modifications are pretty easy and cheap to do so not real expensive shortcomings (where's me toaster!) lol but you are quite right...who in their right mind would wire camping lights to the starter battery circuit and say that was the best way? strange.

Brilliant thank you very much for that
A heavy duty switch it is then!!
again many thanks
