Seat covers

Hi

We've just bought a T25 and have a question about seat covers.
The van is in excellent condition and is very clean but... I am very allergic to dogs and on closer inspection it looks like the previous owners have had a dog in there.
There isn't any smell and hardly any hairs in the upholstery or on the carpet walls but we either need to get the bed and seats, walls somehow cleaned to remove any trace of the dogs, or at the very least recover the front seats and the bed. Don't really want to have the upholstery redone as it still has the originals on and looks great.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sally

You can hire proper wet and dry vacs (like ones to do carpets in your house) thats have a smaller head ideal for doing inside your van. They really get all stuff out

I know this is probably a silly comment but have you checked that the covers don't have zips. I was able to get my rock and roll covers off and put them through the washing machine on 0 degrees. ( I was worried about shrinkage)
I borrowed a Bissell from my brother. All these carpet cleaners come with heads for upholstery. I did the carpet, upholstery and carpeted walls. Well worth the effort. Even after 4 or 5 goes, the water from the carpet was still coming out black. The dark brown pattern kept getting lighter and hidden features revealed!
I am a non-smoker and it took quite a bit of effort to get rid of the smell. Fabreeze also helps.
