Does a Just Kampers exhaust fit?

Anyone know whether the Just Kampers exhaust for T25s up to '85 (
http://www.justkampers.com/shop/type_25 ... fold-pipes" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) fits. I've got an 85 model first registered in March with the early style silencer (made in two halves welded together) but JK say they don't know if it does fit Syncros.
My garage want to fit one that will sit lower as the right angle knuckle joints that hold the silencer up out of harms way are apparently no longer available. Brickworks say 6-8 weeks for made-to-order parts but just failed an MoT with a "major" exhaust leak and can't wait that long as have trip planned in two weeks.
Any other ideas gratefully received.
Thanks,
Andrew.

It was a couple of years ago when I replaced mine, but the "Syncro specific" pipes were still available through my local VW van centre on next day delivery, everything else came from VW Heritage. Ashamed to say I didn't know of Brickwerks then!!
Might be worth a phone call?

What engine ? I'm not aware that any critical Syncro exhaust components have gone completely unavailable. Also if you can be more specific which parts you need. Do you access to ETOS ? If not and you let me know your precise vehicle I can send you the relevant diagrams and parts numbers.
Yet another Andy..

Thanks chaps.
VW Heritage do a kit but it doesn't include the part number 025251186. It's a right angle knuckle joint that lifts the silencer up under the rear valance - one on each side connecting to the manifold and heat exchanger pipes. My VW specialist garage (Pfeiffers in Hove) can source all the rest of the six part system but this part is discontinued and I need two to keep the silencer out of harms way.
The JK system for 1.9 petrol DG engines up to 1985 like mine doesn't lift it up either.

Your part number 025251186 brings up "exhaust part - intermediate piece" on Vagcat which it says is for 1985 - 1992 1.9 DG engines & shows as available.
Give your local VW van centre a ring with the part number & they should be able to tell you for certain, might be one of those things that a main dealer can do but a "specialist" can't, no offence meant to specialist garages by that comment- it's just how the whole parts thing sems to work and exactly the same wall I came up against with the VW Heritage kit, - 2 pipes that could only be bought from VW main dealer network

None of the Syncros I know have one of those exhaust systems. I think most of them must have been replaced with later designs by now. I'll get my coat..
ETOS says that part is still orderable, and 88.28 plus VAT.

Very early 1.9's had them... IIRC all the parts are the same as the early system for 2wd, but with the 2 bends to lift the silencer up...
Either
1. fit the 2wd system (and be aware of the ground clearance issue) and live with it for a bit.
2. do "1." and get some "bends" made by local powerflow centre and fit them..
3. fit the later syncro system which works fine but costs more....
4. See if CJ etc has a good used system to get you out of trouble...

Yep, My van had this exact setup on it when I got it. Replaced the silencer with the standard early 1.9 WBX / 2.0 AC one as you suggest - The one the looks like it is two halves joined together - my 90 degree elbows were good to reuse mind... like people have said, best bet, ring the local VW parts place, see if they still do them, and get another 24 years use...

Thanks again for your tips, chaps.
My local VW van outlet (Eurovans Brighton) says the part was "dropped without supercession" in Aug 07 and no stock is available either at the factory or in the dealer network. Eurovans can order them at £88.28 + VAT (each!) but the factory in Germany can't give an ETA so that's not happening any time soon. It currently has none on back order and I was given to understand that they probably won't make any unless they've built up a batch of orders.
Guess I'll take the course of least resistance and let my independent VW outlet fit the system without them and see what its like to live with. After all, I'm not in the habit of using the van for extreme off-roading - just getting to those 'further afield' camping spots that 2WD vehicles can't reach.
Be grateful if you could spell out the acronyms for me, though - ETOS, CJ, IIRC - with contacts for me to chase them up if necessary.
Cheers,
Andrew.

Tough luck on that one then, looks like your best otion is to fit what you can get and see what modifications become apparent once you're using it.
To be honest, even though I spent ages sourcing the "correct" bits and was lucky because mine were available; I don't think my silencer sits exactly as it should, it looks a bit odd but it works so I tend to leave it alone

ETOS is the parts database, for want of a better explanation.
