Does anyone know how long my Electrolux fridge will last on a full gas bottle? Is it easy to refill these on the continent? Cheers! Robbie

Don't know the figures but a long, long, long time. In fact forget the fridge, it's the cooker and especially the propex that burns up the gas.
I think getting hold of Camping Gaz 907 bottles can be a problem on the continent.

What gas have you at the moment? Calor is not available in Europe ( I stand to be corrected

) Camping Gaz is but only buy / swap from "proper" dealers where the top is re-sealed with the red plastic cap. Where are you going to? The Spanish have a habit of refilling anything, but often with bad leaky results! If you're going for any length of time then it's probably best to buy a "local" bottle & reg. A big orange Repsol butane is quite cheap and they do tap for it which a Camping Gaz reg just screws into. Or invest in a proper refillable LPG bottle (Gaslow & the likes).
Our fridge seems to run for ever on a full Calor botle, but you can bet your a**e it'll run out when there's nowhere nearby to swap it!!
From your other post about not having 240v hook up, obviously electricity isn't an option, but does it run of 12 volt when driving? What about a portable hook up lead with the breaker on the end and using a 12v transformer, perhaps you could run your fridge from that (assuming it's a 2 way) if you're staying on sites? Would involve some switchery to the fridge wiring I imagine but I bet someone on here could work that one out

I guess it all depends on where you are
We have managed to get Camping Gaz in France, Spain & Portugal (but also have fallen foul of a dodgy reflled one, hence the warning).

What do you mean by Propex? Cheers! Robbie

A propex is a 'blown air' heating unit that would keep you nice and toasty warm if you were camping in winter. Google it - but be warned; you will want one.......

We found Camping Gaz available in France and carry two. Most of the time we stay on French Municipal sites as they cost peanuts and include hook up so run the fridge off 240V. Spain is a 'pain', we ended up getting a Spanish bottle and regulator as we were there for 6 months but LPG is very cheap over there. Still have the bottle in the garage....too big for a T25 tho' but anyone who wants it can have it!
