I recently bought a couple of panels from J.K.
the o/s wheel arch has 3 raised square shaped bumps in it about 1mm deep.
Phoned J.K. and they said that this is normal and is due to the tooling when the panel is formed.
Is this bull or are other suppliers using the same manufacturers and thus offering the same quality?

A H Schofields are reportedly the best for panels, and I have had no gripes with them. I'd try them if you can't get what you need from VW.

Theres a lot of problems with replacement panels in the classic car market. I do work mainly on minis and although most of the panels are availible as genuine items they are rather expensive. The "pattern" parts are cheap and they do the job, go for ones that are thatcham approved. Hadrian panels are some of the best non genuine panels availible. I dont know much about A H Schofield but haven't heard anything bad yet.
