Upper Wishbone bushes - replacement

Any advice for my mechanic, hes going to do the upper wishbone bushes, ie do I replace lower bush/balljoints at the same time, how to make sure the eccentric washer goes back on in the right place, and any other hints if youve done it recently !! Yes I read the Wiki entry, do I have to get the wheel alignment, or camber alignment done afterwards, and who does that, Kwik Fit type of place, or VW ?

I wouldn't let a quickfit fitter near my stapler never mind something as precious as a T25.
They will just tell you that your shocks are shot, your brakes are dangerous and even your wiper blades are illegal. Conning b*st*rds
They cant even spell quick properly!!

Yes the camber needs to be reset.
I think the tolerance is + or- 1 degree from vertical,in otherwords vertical.
Settings should be in the haynes manual.

Do it yourself. Just camber needs setting if only bushes are replaced. But don't drive without some set up. You could compromise handling and braking
Find level ground (garage floor?). Get a block of wood that is 'true' and cut to fit inside lip of wheel. Not on tyre or where tyre meets wheel lip. But just inside lip and either in front or behind bearing cover.
Get someone to hold wood against wheel with a spirit level against wood.
adjust to set camber at zero. Or when s/level bubble reads central.
Now this is a very crude method. But I have covered many miles since using this method and have no unusual wear to consider. Besides your not driving a F1 and UK roads are cambered for rain water dispersal.

Camber is indeed '0' degrees (vertical) plus or minus 30 minutes ( that's half a degree either more or less than zero, vertical)
It can be done as explained but your 'tool' has to be held correctly on the inner bead of the rim with wood or similar material that is parallel.
Steering MUST be in straight ahead position.
The standing surface must be absolutely flat
Roll gently back and forth between adjustments
Note* Adjusting the Camber directly effects the tracking.
