What size lpg tank could I get away with and where would it go?

Also can anyone recommend a good installer in kent who's not going to charge the earth and burger up the old girl?

You will need to get a round torroidal (polo mint) tank and put it where wardrobe is and then rebuild wardrobe around tank remembering to leave space to lift engine cover.

you have probably got a water tank under the rear seat.

done this job myself..not too difficult and even put a shelf above the tank which seems to hold more than the wardrobe did!!

Steve of Gasure or one of his agents are the people to see.

Good luck let me know if you wantr more info on the wardrobe adjustments

Would have to recommend Gasure, they know the vans, excellent after sales service as well.

I rempved rear cubpoard altogether and only issue was that I had to fabricate something to latch onto seat back to keep it up right, I used a right angled flat peice of metal which I think was a book end bracket or something from Folcus. then reattatched the metal peice to this. the seat would not have fit if I had stuck the door back onto the tank due to the increased width.

pete from Gasure came all the way to me to do my conversions (2)

I have the polo tank in the camper which has a greater capacity than the underseat tank in the caravelle.

No probs with either.

Ps - whereabouts in Kent are you - noticed a couple more posting from round here!

Van is a 1987 ( D reg) with 1.9 watercooled engine. I dont think this will be a problem to convert. I do have a slight oil leak though just a few drips after a journey so don't know if i will have to sort this first not even sure where its coming from! :?

As for my location I'm currently in Folkestone but soon New Romney and a wreck of a house beckons.

Need to get Betty fixed up before I have no free time or money! :)

Nice to know there are other local 80-90 members out there in Kent, I know Chatham reasonably well from my days at teleworst. Do you know of any meets down this way?

regards

haven't been enough of us for a local meet - we are planning on attending the april raft-fest as it is not too far - just don't tell scoobs then she can't break down!!!

Are you a family man - what type of meet are you after? We have 6 kids from 16 - 8 (second marriages) with us at various times, so child friendly meets a necessity. The dog likes to get in on the act as well. Hope that hasn't put you off!

Our third van is due a new engine shortly (yes I am completellllllllly mad), and we would really appreciate someone else to talk T25 with. Noticed a few T25s round here too - seem to be on the increase!

House renovation, eh? Living in betty, then!

Hi Emma & John,

On the subject of kids we have none at the mo, moving house, allotment and a couple of cats take up a surprising amount of time not to mention refitting betty! but it looks like you both are making up for us with 6 kids, boy thats a house full!

Just investigated raft race do and ran it past Claire, sounds like a fun weekend, not too sure what our moving date is yet but if we are still in folkestone and kicking our heels a weekend jaunt will be great. will keep you posted & will inform canaldrifters when we know for sure if we can make it.

Regards

Gary & Claire

Welcome to the club, you sort of sneaked in by the back door posting on the LPG forum, it's a good friendly forum with lots of people willing to help.
