If you mean the exhaust gas flue it has to vent to outside so there isn't any other option really.

Unless you don't wish to run the fridge on GAS then it can't be done without the vent.
I have seen one van with the fridge vent via a flex hose out of the window , Not really that good tbh ,but it worked for them at the time ,and you risk the flumes getting back in via the same window.
If your thinking the vent would spoil the looks of the van then either get it colour coded or have it chrome dipped / polished .
Remember the vent has to be above the fridge it cannot vent below.

I was thinking of the flexible pipe up to the window and make a board with a hole in to fit in the partialy open window . I have a corbon monoxide alarm bit like a smoke alarm for inside the van.

I really wouldn't recommend any way other than the right way. What exactly is your objection to the vent being on the side of the van? Purely aesthetic?

If your dead set against drilling a hole in your van to fit a flue then spend a bit more cash and get a 12v fridge like these
