I've just bought a bolt on plate for my passenger seat - it was advertised as a 'simple nut and bolt job' on the website that I bought it from but I have a couple of questions.

Hopefully someone has fitted a similar plate in the past and can help me (the place I bought it from is closed to day and I wanted to get the job done this weekend!)

Would I be right assuming that I bolt it on to the existing runners (there are some holes that line up with the holes on the plate?

It comes with 8 bolts but there are only 4 holes - am I supposed to drill 4 more bolt holes. In other words, should these bases be held in place by more than 4 bolts?

Its a sportcraft base.

If yours is a 'Bolt on' swivel seat base then do as it says on the tin ,,,,,,,,,,as long as it can be secured at each corner as most of the ones I have ever seen have been welded into place .

Remember the seat height will be raised by around 30mm or more due to the additional plates being added .

The swivel should have come with some captive nuts on steel strips ? If these are missing slide M8 nuts inside the rails and use countersunk M8 screws to fasten it through the holes in the rails.

yep i just drilled a couple of extra holes in the runners and bolted it up.

Phoned the seller and they confirmed this was right.

I can now happily swivel!

they have 2 - one you weld in and one that just bolts in - yes its expensive but we only needed one and it would end up costing the same buying 2nd hand and paying for the welding. I' looked for ages for a 2nd hand bolt in one but couldn't find one.

I'm happy with it.
