Hi iv got a 1982 westy joker, thats been a little hardwork getting sorted but im getting there, or i was before this started up!

Iv started getting a repetative clunking noise similar to that when a wheels loose, but iv checked all the wheels and its not that, it only appears to happen when i accelarate, and gets gradually faster as i speed up and stops when the revs level off, if anyone in south manchester can help or if anyone has any ideas id be most grateful cheers!

Sounds similar to problem I've had recently. We checked out brakes, bearings, cv joints and driveshafts - all ok. Then our petrol pump packed in! I'm hoping to replace the petrol pump today, so will be able to let you know if that sorts our problem. I suspect what we could hear was the push rod for the pump knocking against something. I'll keep you posted.

Cheers,
Donald.

sounds abit like CV joints to me, mine did that last year gave the boots a squeeze on the gearbox end and moved the shaft up and down a bit, it went away so I repacked the boots, the same happended this year on the way to the MOT so I did the squeeze and movement and it went away and repacked the boots again. I know they are supposed to be replaced but I do only do about 3K a year.
