Clutch/Flywheel

Right i have been experiencing juddering when in first gear starting off, van is a 1980 2ltr Aircooled twin carbs running on LPG.
Clutch cable was adjusted and all seemed ok till engine got hot again then back to juddering in first gear.
Mocki kindly came to take a closer look and after adjusting the cable with no change suggested that a new clutch might be in order, so thanks to Mocki and Matt for apllying for the task of changing the clutch.
They proceeded to take the parts out and on closer inspection once the clutch was out all appeared to be ok.
On 5 peoples "yes it will be fine" they put the same clutch back in.
Now it was oringally a 1600 engine and like i said now its a 2ltr, the clutch they sent from GSF was for a 2ltr Aircooled but was size 220 mm and the one that was in was 200mm.
So i guess what im asking is what size flywheel does a normal 2ltr engine take? the 220 new clutch woulnt fit.
sorry if its a bit long winded and im sure matt and mocki will post up anything i have missed or worded wrongly :D
thanks in advance :)

Hiya Katie, JK list the 2000 A/C as having a 228mm crutch (same as the later 1.9 and all 2.1 W/C).

I'd post which gearbox code you have 'cos I guess the issue is the bellhousing ... the end of the crankshafts seem to be the same :| Perhaps Aidan will know.

I guess it comes down to what's original 1.6 and what's been changed ... unless of course the number is magically still there or Steve Mocki recognises the differences ?

Looks like they put the flywheel off the 1600 on the 2.0ltr box, the 1600 AC, early water cooled and diesel use a 215mm clutch, the later watercooled 2.1 and 1.9 and the 2.0AC use a 228mm clutch.

We can get the Clutch Matched up
But there was no contamination or Slip marks on the Clutch
Before adj. It would creep in 1st even when down to floor
after, the biting point felt better, with no creep
as soon as warm tho, the judder returned, but the bus would pull off in 3rd, no slip

no wear on forks, or bearing thingy
any ideas ?
