is it normal on these vans to have nearly 1/2 a tank variation on the fuel guage depending on cornering and hills?

Mines like that .......sometimes I think I have a leak but it slowly meanders back. The shape of the tank and position of the sender don't help much!

ahhh.so im not alone
came back from the coast the other week and thought i had 1/4 of a tank left when i got home..parked up on the drive with nose downhill slightly..next day it was coughing and spluttering when i started it up and got worse till it cut out.im thinking oh bugger the trip out has killed it!!!.got a fivers worth in a can and put that in and away it went again.learned a valuble lesson though, fill up b4 it gets to the red bit !!

We learned the hard way never to let ours get anywhere near the quarter mark, did you know there's no filling stations between the M25 & Dover ?
Seems to be a VW thing, the Golf's the same, oneminute easily quarter of a tank left, next morning gauge hardly rises.
Don't trust em
