Has anybody seen a bumper?

Can anybody help...............
I post with much regret. I'm a new member and only picked up my new campervan last Friday evening........i was over the moon.
However 5 minutes from home some ****head went into the back of me taking the corner off the bumper and denting the offside
rear panel which now needs work......(can you believe it) Anyhow the gent who bumped me has been helpfull and i also had a witness.
I'm in need of some advice of where i can get my hands on a corner of the rear bumper. Its made out of Fibre flass and i think its
original to the van? Can i get them separate rather than buying the whole thing?
I've taken it to a VW specialist in London, Jacks in Ladbroke Grove, has anybody had any experience of these guys?
Ps this is not the steel bumper but i think its called the Caravelle bumper that is fibreglass and comes in 3 bits and wraps around the body more. I have just found out they are hard to get. Maybe someone knows of someone with a second hand one?
Thanks in advance all

Hi there,
Horrible luck to have a bump on the way home from buying the camper!!
I managed to reverse (quick rapidly!) into a lamp post not long after getting mine and had to replace the whole bumper, however you can get the end caps by themselves - think that's what you're referring to? Just Kampers sell them:
http://www.justkampers.com/shop/type_25 ... -rear.html
I don't have any personal experience of Jacks Garage at all, however the guy that I use told me that he has had quite a lot of customers come to him after bad experiences at Jacks. Guy I go to is near purley way, called South London VW's, let me know if you want the number.
Hope you get your dents sorted and have many a happy camping trip in your new van!
Jo.

Hi JO
Thanks for the reply. the one you have pointed out is not the one i'm after. The one i want is the Caravelle bumper which is fibre glass, they are like rocking horse sh*t to find and will have to settle for a second hand one.
MMM food for thought about jacks............?

Bummer about the bump. Try posting in wanted?
No personal experience of Jacks but also heard poor reports. Think they've gone abit 'celeb' and got complacent.

Hey thanks mate. I'm treally at a loss here. I can get the full wrap around fibreglass bumpers off justcampers but their not the original
ones for the van! and all i need is the off side rear corner bit.
Frustrated in South London!!!

You may have seen my thread a few weeks ago. Someone in a carpark did the same to me & took off. To buy the wrap arounds are really expensive.
So I opted for a brand new steel type, with the hard plastic ends..plus I think they pull the vehicle back into the time era of when it was built, even though the fibre bumpers were original VW.
My whole back end was smashed and panels damaged. I bought new panels & bumper from JK and had it welded & sprayed cheaper than buying a replacement fibre back bumper.
They are on ebay..though if you scroll thru all the stuff there.
I still have the fibreglass on the front but if that gets bashed it will be replaced with steel. Also they dont stay black, the sun greys em out & have to keep blacking them.
Oh and I fitted a nice big tow bar, so if anyone else runs up my butt, i imagine they will suffer worse than I did last time.
