Hi can anbody help, new to this!
I have 1981 2litre Aircooled. When first drove home accrid blue smoke in cab, drove home with windows down. ( had engine sorted) Blue smoke has gone but still accrid smell - comes and goes, don't think smell is connected to engine.
As you can probably tell no nothing about mechanics but has great looking interior.
Thanks

Have you tried changing your socks recently ?,,,,,,,only joking..
Have some one check the rocker cover gaskets for any leaks which can lead to nasty niffs of burning oil in the cab area which will come to the front of the vehicle via the heat exchangers on the exhaust system....

Another thing to check: Are all of the air hose ducts present ?
One of mine was missing until a fabricated a steel elbow section for the rear O/S right next to the exhaust.
Also check for pushrod tube seals leaks and rocker covers leaks.
