Whats a good and cheap satellite system for camping?

I'm fed up with trying to get a picture on my TV's digital reciever, as its ok with a strong signal but useless in a low signal area.
Obviously it needs to be 12v, and also have an RF output to the TV.
Have been looking at the low cost one at Maplins but it does not say RF output and they are sold out.

Maplins do 2 different models (or they did), one was SCART only output and the other had RF & Phono type A/V sockets too. They used to always be available B Grade, open box demos etc, but now everyone wants them they've got pricey & scarce

If you've got a laptop, I found this yesterday, no idea if it's any good but it's the next step up from the Freeview USB dongles http://www.bestofferbuy.com/geniatech-s ... -6678.html I'm guessing ther must be or will soon be others about. Then all you need is a small dish (ebay ?)

There's lots of full set ups on ebay too at the moment, probably due to people buying them and not understanding how to set up the dish

There's a Digital Mini Satellite System for sale at Netto from Thursday 16th April priced at £79.99. The brand name is Comag.

I also got one of these shown in the second link http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Mo ... urn false; as I was getting pee'd of with messing about with TV aerials trying to get a decent picture.

The main problem I have is that my TV does not have a scart socket so the reciever must have an RF output.
I don't really want to buy another TV,and I cant be arsed with having a seperate RF modulator.
My main problem Is finding a 12v reciever with an RF output, which seems to be quite rare nowdays.

Pace Mini Sky Box has RF out and is 12V. Sky box will give you all freesat channels without subscription except Ch5 which you have to pay a one off payment of £5-00. Come up on Ebay quite frequently and very small, also very reliable.

This is what I have been looking at but at £80 for a buy it now, I was hoping for a cheaper option like a full kit with an Rf out.
Seems that I might just have to bite the bullet though or buy another TV.
To be honest nine times of out ten my freeview works fine, but its such a pisser when you can't get a signal and need to watch MOTD.

Been pondering / researching this again (keeps my mind off what I should be doing..) and I think you're right, you're going to have to swap the telly!

As no new 12 volt receivers have RF output anymore, the only way forward with one of those is an RF modulator which you said you can't be a**ed with, You have no AV inputs so no point going there....

The 12v Sky boxes are OK but you are limited to what you can use them for, although if you have a home subscription your card may work (although this is obviously contrary to the terms of the Sky contract, but you wont get "premium" channels; fimls & sport)

The good news is that there are loads of places selling off analogue flat panels quite cheaply at the moment, all of which will have scart connectors, so a Maplins type set up will work fine; (also your power usage on 12v should be lower on a flat panel) or go for a monitor with AV inputs and run that off the box

Not much help I know, but if you do get a new tv you can go back to looking for a s/h suitcase receiver kit on the bay of eees for around £30, so with a new telly it'll probably be cheaper than just buying a new Maplins kit at £100 that you can't use - how's that for logic
