power steering pump

Hi all,
I have a 87 multivan with an AAZ conversion. I've lost the power steering and think the pump my have gone. Does anyone know a good place to get a replacement or know what alternatives are out there. I don't know what other vehicles use the same pumps? I think I'll be able to carry out the replacement myself but if there are any pitfalls that may be lurking I'd appreciate any advice on how to tackle them.

Cheers

should be the same as vw car pumps ie golfs

there is apparently a casing difference with petrol or diesel but this may just be positioning of certain bolts!

make sure you flush the system and replace the fluid!

also clean the resivor out and this includes the filter!

Billy,
Cheers for the reply. The bloke who completed the conversion to AAZ (Russel at Synchronutz) tells me that it must be replaced by a T25 original pump or i will have to re-route the hoses and change the pump mountings. By the flushing of the system I guess you mean bleeding any air out?

a seal kit is a tenner for the pump, well worth loking at doing doing, filters the same, new fluid and follow the procedure in bentley manual it's dead simple to strip the pump and check it and maybe reseal and to refill the system and 'bleed' the system basically just a case of turning full lock to lock a few times and topping up and checking level with engine running is between the marks.
Obviously check the rack isn't leaking or the pipes front to back.
