Seat Runner Stuck

My passenger seat runner will not slide, at all. As far as I can tell looking at the mechanism, it's dis-connecting but it's well and truly jammed.
When I got it the van about three weeks ago, it had some old replacement seat covers which seemed to have been stuck under the seat. I've taken as much of these off a I can, could they be jamming up the works? How do I fix this?
Thanks!
Michael

yep, my runners were completely jammed up with gunk - lots of GT85 and brute force sliding em back and forth.

Finally got my drivers seat moving this week....sat in it, lifted the lever, and thrusted my hips with all my might!!!!

Been trying for months. Mine have little black plastic things (anti rattle/wobble gizmo's???) in the runners that just got in the way

I fitted some new seats, and when I bolted them in, they would not move forward or back.
Found that the mechanism was not able to move down when i lifted bar up as there was no room under runners.
so I spaced runners up with some 10mm washers, re-bolted back down and hey preston, nearly went through windscreen on first try

had this at the weekend both of the rear small bolts that hold the seat base to the frame had come out and jamed it up
have a look down the inside of runner you should be able to see all the way down.

It feels solid, like it's still locked rather than stuck like there's something soft in there so this sounds likely
I'll grab a torch and have a look down the runners, thanks!
