Probably a silly question, but would a 2 Ton trolley jack and 2 3 Ton axel stands be Ok for my bus, I've spotted some on ebay for £30. I know the weight of busses will vary, mines been stripped inside and will only contain a R&R bed and maybe a buddy seat. Would it be worth going for a 3 ton jack to be on the safe side :D

Clive51,
I've been using a 2 ton jack and 2 ton axle stands on mine with no problems.
Empty kerb weight max. is about 1.5 tons and max. gross about 2.5 tons and you are only lifting one end at a time, usually just one corner.

Just don't ask some jobsworth at 'elf 'n safety innit.

Or you'll never get anything done.

I think you will find the main issue being the lack of head height on these small jacks, they barely touch the chassis/suspension on maximum lift height so users resort to dangerously chocking up the jack with bricks or wood (not ideal)

Hi everyone,

A typical type 2 T3 bus weight is approx. 1.8 tonnes.

My Aircooled hightop campervan weighs nearly 1.5 tonnes at the front end and nearly 1.8 tonnes at the back.
