Just noticed the fibreglass on the hightop has lifted slightly in the gutter on the passenger side. Is this quite common??

Im guessing Im going to have to seal the new gap thats appeared between the gutter and fibreglass. Is this worth doing or should I leave it? Has anyone else suffered with this??

:(

No need to seal??? I can see that upon heavy rain the water will run over the gutter :(

If you are worried about it then seal it with sikaflex sealant.
you asked if anyone else has this ..I have, and it hasn't been a bother in rain, hail ,sleet, snow, high winds, horizontal stair rods.. etc.

:D

I think the seal part is inside slightly higher than the actual gutter. My gutters look as though they might leak but in 10 years they never have. I have heard that some owners fill the gutters with sealant but not sure its needed.

I'm about to remove, clean and reseal/bond hitop onto van. I think modern products like Sikaflex are stronger then original products were.

yes I have a permanent rail on the high top.
At three meters long, it was pop riveted on.. and sealed to stop water ingress.

I can now attach all kinds of awnings, A Caravanstore sun awning or a porch or a tent.

single piece
like this

got it from an 80-90 member

but try any caravan Accessory shop. Or serch the net.
do try and get this profile, as it makes fitting a doddle.
you'll need the extra long pop rivets too by the way. 12mm grip range 6 - 9 mm
