Any ideas where i can buy standard rubber D bushes for an early type anti roll bar from?

It's the bush that goes from the bar to the chassis, held in place with the U clamp which uses 2 bolts, not the U clamp with single bolt. VW originally supplied the parts but it turned out to be wrong and the right ones aren't available any more . Have a feeling JK and VW Heritage only supply the later types and GSF don't do 'em so I'm looking for alternatives suppliers. The only other options is one of Brickwerks poly bushes, he also seems to be the only site to list the three different types.

the bushes are all the same for the yeays, however the clamp is different, the only difference is the size of the hole, as you can get 19,21,23 mm roll bars.

if you cant source them i should have a second hand set you can have somewhere.

If you measure the distance between the flat and the hole on mine and it's about 12mm, measure the distance on the one supplied by VW (pt no 251 411 041 C for the 21mm ARB) it's about 7mm. A quick fit of the new one showed a nice fit around the ARB but daylight between the flat on the bush and the chassis.

Also, have a look at Brickwerks, Mr B is selling two different types of Powerflex D bush for the same diam bar, both 21mm but one for the single bolt, one for the twin .... why?

I'm sure I got mine from JK's.
Try these, I dont know why they are listing them as 20mm.

The bushes aren't all the same.
Early ones are a lot deeper than the later ones.
Late ones come in 2 sizes for the 2 different roll bar thicknesses.

presume there are 3 sizes of early ones then with the 2 sizes of late ones.

just stripped an early one so will be keeping the bushes!

Billy it all gets a bit confusing, even the guy at VW was scratching his head and shrugging his shoulders!

It suggests there's 3 for the later and 2 for the early ...

For the later single bolt clamps we could find 2 D bushes listed - 19mm ARB pt no - 251 411 041 B and 21mm ARB pt no 251 411 041 C. We couldn't find one listed for a 23mm ARB but as you can buy the ARB to drop link bush in a 23mm version it stands to reason that there is a 23mm ARB kicking around somewhere! (also mentioned in the Wiki)

For the twin bolt clamps with a 21mm ARB - part no taken from the bush itself - 251 411 041 HGO - no longer available and VW's system doesn't even list a part no.
Part no 251 411 041 C (same no. as the above single bolt) is now listed as a 20mm and there's also a 22mm with a part no 251 411 041 A I'm sure he said this one wasn't available any more. We came up with loads of ideas why it was listed differently, most of it guess work ... such as the 22mm bush IS the one for the 23mm ARB. Not sure why they were both listed against the earlier models, as we now know it's thinner than the later versions and therefore doesn't fit and just to make matters worse all the parts diagrams show the single bolt version no matter what year we looked at.

Anyway after all that I bit the bullet, followed lhd's advice and made a call to JK and got them to measure the bushes, the sizes matched mine so I ordered a set and guess what I got??? Original VW ones!! Makes you wonder if I got lucky or they're hording them all?
