My temp guage has been dead since i have had the van, just serviced it and i think its time to fix it. The needle does not move even on long journeys any ideas what the problem could be???

At least I'm not alone!
If your engine is a 1.9 WBX look at my thread a bit down the page for some very helpful advice.

in that case i would say short the sender wire to the engine block and see if the gauge moves.
if not, check out the wire for breaks esp in the area just after the sender, they go brittle and snap within but dont always show it on the outside, due to the heat.
