amount of oil in a 1.9na diesel?

any one know how much a 1.9 na diesel engine code 1x from a t4 is meant to hold?

4.5 litres if changing oil filter
4.0 litlres if not

I found the info after trailing through the old forum - can't remember who'll be to blame for it though

yeah thats what the guy who changed the engine said they normaly take 4.5 litres but he wasnt sure as the engine was one he doesnt usually get to change. he reckons it was a bigger engine than the normal 1.9 diesel. and he hswapped the dipstick to the other side and the reading on the dipstick, which is not acurate says with the 4.5 litres put in it read at minimum. when i drive the van the oil light comes on spadically on level ground, not when going over bumps or up and down hill.

I've been told that it is the same amount of oil as the 1.6 becasue the sump is the same.
if only I could remember how much oil went in the 1.6

Louey's already given the correct answer. The dipstick may not read correctly vs the 1.6 though as the block is taller.

is there any way to get the correct reading on the dipstick at the momment with 4.5 litres of oil it reads at min on dipstick?
and the oil light comes on occassionally never for long but it flicks on for a bit spradically??
