Roof insulation

Hi. I've been trying to insulate my GRP roof with the tinfoil/bubblewrap insulation. Catch is its peeling off. I glued it on with evo-stick spray-on glue, usually sticky enough for most things but not for a bit of lightweight insulation! I Was chatting with a chap at Dubfreeze who said some glues dont stick to the foil stuff very well and suggested I try to get some coachbuilders glue. Anyone know where I can get some? Plan B is to put up a wooden frame and line it with 3mm ply with the foil stuff laid loose between the ply and the roof. Any other suggestions?

Are you leaving the Evil-Stink to dry before sticking it together and are you coating both faces?

It's a contact adhesive and must be dry to the touch first.

Otherwise a Silicone sealant/glue should do it.

You can glue absorbant materials, like card and fabric immediately, but non-porous materials like plastic and metal need to have the glue on both surfaces and left to go tacky, as Titus says. Then, you press them together.
Isn't the insulation held up by the roof lining material anyway? I stuck the insulation to the top (hidden) side of the roof lining panels (apprecoiate that not all camper use panels), then the panels are screwed to battens.

i used evo-stick to stick my carpet straight onto hightop, but it was crap and fell off. In the end i just got some good carpet glue and this worked a treat.

try http://www.megavanmats.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for the correct heat proof glue for your carpet.

He also sells the lining materials

my brother got it for me from work, as he works in a carpet factory. As windysurfer says though, give megavanmats a shout. sure he can sort you out with some.

B&Q sell reallly good carpet glue in a spray can, one thing to remeber is to get an old towel and really make sure the roof is dry, when i did my roof i found this was the major reason for it noew sticking!

The B&Q stuff is what I tried before. I've ordered a can off http://www.megavanmats.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so I'll see how I get on with that.

Thanks for all the replies!
