HI folks although i can easily find replacement front shocks for my camper can any one recommend a pair for me something half decent but not mega expensive. Just don't want cheap and nasty.
I'm also about to replace the heater motor and resistor/rheostat. Thought it best to do the heater matrix as well at the same time being such a long winded job.
I have tracked down a new one at Euro car parts and car parts on line.com but they are both way into the hundred pounds zone. Hence any alternative suppliers you might know i could try. done the usual Jk, GSF and main dealers.
Thanks
Hammy

Hammy, there's loads of odd threads about shocks but this ones got some good reading -

The heavy duty ones JK sell are Al-ko, which get the thumbs down, and although their webshite still shows a pic of the Boge HD shocks you'll get Al-ko if you try to order them.

£42 each? Mind you, escapes me how £162 for others can be justified. Must be a LOT of work goes into making one then......

£42 each....so worked out as a set just a little cheaper...not much in it.....the main difference being they can be purchased as singles/pairs/or sets (pairs recommended for safety)

Bilstein B4's are original quality so reliable standard replacement.

HI chaps thanks for the links and advice. I had been recommended the Sachs Boge ones from Jk by a few mates and as i had a 10 percent off code with them decided to go for it. Their web site said out of stock so i phoned to check when they would be in again to find they actually had 2 on the shelf so got them for £24.22 each not bad really.
I didn't order them right away as i had to make the order up to £75 to get the discount, which wasn't a problem as i needed other items. I rang back to speak to the same person and was told he was on the phone so i asked if they could take the order which they couldn't?? so i asked to be rung back which never happened.
Three to Four times i called them again to ask why/when he was calling me back as i was off to work. Every time i was told he was on the phone so i asked why he hadn't rang me and said to them don't you want my £130 order? I was then told by some sarcastic bloke "he taking bigger orders than mine which was more important!!??" I nearly slammed the phone down and told them to stick it. I finally got my call just as i was leaving but i shan't hurry back to JK. Their service level has gone down the pan in my view. One of my friends in the Type 2 club was called an idiot recently by them not good.
If anyone can help re the new heater matrix I'd be really grateful
Cheers
Hammy
