As its a nice day going to cut the hole in the roof of my tin top today to enable the fiting of my rear hinged genuine westfalia pop top.

Not sure where to drill holes for rear hinges but will have to work it out !!

Also have not got front lugage rack brackets but will have to design/fabricate some

Got all new rubbers to go on

Simple question-- Should/ Does the front lugage rack/moulding have the rubber seal fitted at the botom where it fits against the steel roof ?????

cheers
Trev

yep only seal on the luggage rack goes around the bottom, long seal around the bottom of the rear part and seal on front of elevating bit so it seals against the rack.

i put luggage rack on first, then dummy fitted the poptop and marked the hindge position, poptop off and then double checked hindge mounting against that of my westy. made the rear fixings for the pop top then cut a small hole at the middle of the van just behind where the lock meck bolts to, poptop back on and then fitted the locking mech. thats the roof done then and its dry as is.

then it was roof back of again and you need to cut the hole to the right shape and size that you want whether you are going mozaik or westy replica is up to you.

make bed in roof, fit canvas to poptop, roof back on fix lift mech and fix canvas to roof body.

probally missed out loads. :ok
