From what I can gather as a newbie myself, it is mostly common sense, but rusty seams in the bodywork and weeping head gaskets on water cooled types seem to be the first things to avoid.

Rusty bits on the rear arches can be fixed but it apparently quite a big job, check in the reamost r/h and l/h cavities in the engine bay for rusty seams as well.

Really useful.

We took it to buy ours. Referred to it but you can guarantee that some of the things in the lists will crop up so you just have to weigh up how bad things could get and either go for it or run away.

Good luck. Buying a bus (1985 T25) has been one of the most fun things we've done and we've only used it once. Seeing it on the drive everyday always makes me smile.
