help oil pressure

right i have had my engine out to fit new rubbr head gaskets ect put it all in but cant get no oil pressure and is tickking like mad so i turned it of and left it help i dont know what to do
is a 84 df 1.9 engine wb

the ticking is just the tappets
How do you know there is no pressure?

just an assuming really cus of the noise that was not there before?

As you have put the engine back in
Could you have mixed up the oil pressure sender wires when reconnecting everything?
one is the 0.9bar (yellow) and the other is 0.3bar ( blue/black)

no well just sorted it all wired fine i was told to prime the system by taking the oil filter or and filling it with oil and the filter feed pipe worked a treat also the noise was the tappets they have now shut up but the van wont drive i think it will need setting up again and i have an induction leak to find so i will leave it till tomorrow now.
