Hi there - hope this isn't too stupid a question:

My vans front seats are original, mounted onto metal 'boxes' (I think this is standard?), and I want to fit a swivel base onto the RH passenger seat (its a LH drive).

When I've looked for swivel bases to buy, most have said that its a simple job to unbolt the old seat from its runners and then bolt the swivel base into place.

However, where are these bolts and how do I reach them (and thus fit the swivel base when I buy one) - I've looked underneath (as far as I can peer in that is) but can't locate them. Do I have to slide the seat all the way out from its runners first? - if so how do I do this as the bottom runners are closed at the ends.

Any advise and or help would be greatly appreciated,

no bolts on seats, they slide out of the runners forward, there's a stop tab on the left side of the seat to release for the last 2".
Factory swivels are welded onto the runners.
Aftermarket ones are fitted in various ways and generally raise the seat by more

The original VW/Westfailure bolt-in swivel bases are held in with countersunk 6mm and 8mm screws which bolt into captive nuts which are retained on steel strips which slide inside the runners welded into the van and line up with the holes already in the runners.

You have to have the seat swiveled at something like 30 degrees to fasten 2 of the screws and 90 degrees to do another etc etc through trial and error.

There were also weld-in swivel bases Just to throw a spanner in't werks
