Hi got an intermitent headlight fault. Headlights go out and come back on whilst driving. Have changed switch but no effect, and given wires a jiggle round whilst stationary but doesn't do it then.
looking at fuses appears that each headlight seperately fused!!.

Any ideas of where to go next?

Does the heater fan go off aswell at the same time? If so it may be the ignition switch. Non fixable... £5 from GSF.

Thanks
have checked out and it looks like is indicator stalk causing the problem, so thanks for that.

Now I have 2 more queries
where can you get new ones from and what exactly do I want - the whole lot?
how do you remove the stalk and switch, have taken off the cowl, do I need to remove the steering whel etc, or is there a simple way I am missng. This item doesn't appear to be covered in the Haynes manual.

Thanks John

easy job.
Disconnect battery earth.
Prise off the horn push and undo the big nut (27mm iirc) and remove with washer and keep safe.
A good tug will remove the steering wheel.
There are three machine screws holding the two stalk units together and to the coulum.
Pull off the connectors at the back of the switch units, and undo the screws and you will be able to pull off the two stalk units together.
Remove the screws and keep safe and you will be able to split the two stalk units - there's a tang on one and a slot on the other and two clips that loosely hold them together.
Replace the faulty light switch with a good one (continuity test it first perhaps) and reassembly is the reverse procedure. Nip up the steering wheel nut firmly but not massively.
Reconnect battery, and check
hope you have success.
