Anyone got a picture of beneath cushion behind the R&R bed?

As above really, somebody in the past has "constructed" the interior to my t25. When the bed is folded out the cushion is about 6" above the metal of the back of the van (are they always like this?), so they made a wooden sqaure around the engine hatch that the rear cushion can sit on to be the same height. (hopefully that makes sense)
What is the original setup like beneath the rear-most cushion, pics would be great.
Thanks

Our Westy rear bed folds so that the cushion from the back rest is flush with the cushion over the engine cover.
There was something about a bed needing a box with drawers under it over the engine recently, but can't remember what sort it was.
What interior do you have? have a look through the various catalogues on line and see if you can make out what might be missing.

I think only Westys have a bed that folds level with the rear metal work though I could be wrong.
Our Remio has the wooden platform as do most others that I ve come across, but it is useful storage for not used much stuff.

That's a well useful extra storage box Irishkeet, I like it.
I notice on some of your pics though, you look to have a full width rear seat so I wonder if that's why there's a difference between our two. Mine's a 3/4.

Our westy bed is on engine cover too... and I wish it was raised. Great storage for tools and spares.

no idea, maybe it was only the full width that had the stepped hinges
Im sure you can buy these hinges somewhere

i think it depend on how you mount the r&r hinges as to wether they lift up from the seat or not

My old Holdsworth folds flat with the rear metal work too

im not sure it may be a specific hinge, when i put my van back together i tried both ways and all i got was high & higher, could not get the bed to lay on the engine bay with the hinges I have.
I prefer having the box as its great for the tools but there is not a lot of head room when your sitting up in bed watching a movie

well when i did my seat/bed i set the hinge to fully extended for the bed so the hinge wouldnt go anymore but in the seat position its not fully extended the opposite way but your weight on the seat and the seat down on the base stops the back rest from dropping back any further..it seems solid enuff that i dont need any catches for the back
but as you say..it could be different hinge set ups too

I didn't know there was different ways the bed went over the engine cover , thought they were all raised .
So this is the Autohomes Komet configuration , as previously stated great for keeping tools and stuff .

It is down to how you mount the hinges. When I put an R and R into my old splitty, I made it level with the top of the engine bay and our Hi top came with the same arrangement. Our green camper has a box thing, which is well useful for storage

Therunner, did you happen to look at both sets of hinges side by side and compare the lengths/angles they moved to from flat to seat? I think they are different. Same kind of design, but different lengths in arms and angles they stop in.

Westy ones are a different pattern hinge, the reason that aftermarket ones end up higher than the back bit is beacuse there mainly hinges first designed for bays etc then slightly adapted for t25's, bays have a higher back bit as standard!
