Help needed - can not get it to run right!!

Right, i seem to have a gremlin in my engine an no one knows whats up.

Basically i have had a new engine from ELITE fitted, i have just had my carb refurbed by gower & lee. I have re-gasketed all joins and even used wellseal on the joins to make sure. I have tested all the joins and i have no leaks at the manifold. I have also checked the brake vacume and thats ok...

Gassed it this morning and the co is still at 0.1%. No matter what i do its always at 0.1%, adjusting the mixture screw e.t.c does "feck" all and its running a little lumpy...

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?? It feels like an air leak but "feck" knows where as everything is new and sealed...

Anyone had a problem like this before or does anyone know who i could speak to??

Oh, its a DG engine, early model (1 oil switch model)

cheers

CO is just one part of the exhaust gas composition.
What is everything else doing?

lambda/AFR?
CO2?
O2?
HC's?

it sounds like a air leak, spray wd40 around all the joints, if it raises the idle speed there is a leak.
dont use grease, as it just sucks it in but dont show you any change.

never thought it was the carb - how expensive was that ?

Have already checked for leaks and none there (its how i found the vacume leak).

Spoke to the carb people and they confirmed the carb was workin as far as mixture/idle adjustment goes. I got the refurb as the carb wasnt in great condition really and am after peace of mind.

Speaking to another mechanic and he says the 0.1CO is ok on idle as long as its rising when the revs are higher (cruising speed)

Will get it warmed up again soon and get a full print out of the results (am using an MOT spec gas analiser so they will be spot on.)

Right...

CO - 0.1%
HC - 26ppm
CO2 - 13.48%
O2 - 2.49%
Lambda 1.123
