Choke flap, should it fully open and close -pierburg

Hi,

I have a pierburg carb, there seems to be a flat spot at times when it has jsut started, and was thinking it may be the carb.

Should the choke flap fully open after pressing the accelerator or open just a few mm.

Is there a way to tune a carb to gain more MPG?

Thanks

Hi mate if you take the pancake off the top of the carb, with the engine cold depress the accelerator pedel to the floor once, that activates the fast idle cam.the choke flap should be 3.3mm from fully closed can be adjusted. If the fast idle cam is working should run at about 2000rpm.By touching the accelerator the revs will drop as the cam moves. The choke flap should be fully open when hot.Only tunning is to have the CO checked, all info is in the Haynes. Hope its been some help, iam sure somebody else with more experience will be along soon.Good carb when running right.
