Hi,
I have an EJ20 engine fitted to my camper and I have a quite high pitched ticking noise coming from the engine when it is under load at low revs. It doesn't happen when reving the engine as a stand still, just at low revs as you pull through the gears. I thought it was the tappets and used some flushing fluid before changing the oil tonight. I have also added some head cleaner additive to the oil I have re-filled with but the ticking persists. Any ideas?

That happend to mine!!! Mine turned out to be the plug leads earthing to the engine!!! Remember that its wasted spark on these so it fires the plug on compression and exhaust, so clicks alot, the plug leads arent cheap btw!! Might not be that but you never know!
