Metrinch spanners

anyone worked on your van before ? Metrinch spanners are terrific. Wrk on A/f or Metric and work on well rounded nuts. Have saved my bacon a few times. Don't see them around these days.

I've got a set of the 1/4" drive sockets, they are really useful.

so what do these wonder spanners look like
are they hex head instead of 12 point ?
I use only hex sockets, some of the MAC knuckle savers spanners are combination open and hex, my prefered

Didn't Snap-On sell something similar a few years ago as 'Flank Drive' ?

Yes, both Snap-On and Facom both selll flank drive spanners.
Metrinch had the advantage that they are suitable for both metric and imperial fasteners.

nasty looking things, if you are tight for space, you'd have a lot of play before it gets hold of the nut/bolt

I'd prefer to have 2 sets, one for each

everyone to his own I suppose

Metrinch spanners work by using rounded lobes and grip the hex faces of the nut or bolt not the corners. Open ended ones have an extended entrance to the lobes and as commented are sometimes a bit long for some applications. could be modified I suppose if needed in extremis.
