sheared head bolts

just bought my first t25 from vehicles for sale,had replacement engine in 2007 needs minor tdying ,gets it home tops up the water ,hey my docs are soaking,checks it out 2 sheared head bolts under the carb manifold ,now remove the barrels one has sheared halfway ,the other near enough on the casings ,so can this be fixed ?complete engine removel ?can this happen whilst driving or has it more than likley happend when somebody has worked on it ,all the headbolts have heavy corrosion

Unless you have the facilities to repair or can find a company close to you to complete this job, your best bet may be to find another complete engine to get you back on the road.

Corroded head studs are generally a sign of a poorly maintained engine along with the percentage and quality of the antifreeze used.

Early T25 watercooled are known for corroded head bolts and even the head shearing off. The correct genuine VW antifreeze specified for your engine should have been used. They do two sorts and its the BLUE one G11. this is stressed. If anyone has the other one they do ( red ? ? ? or any other make don't just add some of the correct one. Flush out and start again. Knowing this is not a hapeth of use in your situation I know but might help others.
