T25 disposal

If my ageing van should ever go terminal I would like it to go to a specialist VW breaker rather than a general breaker to whom it would be worth its weight in scrap metal which would be a shame as they would also probably not save the small but essential items that are getting in short supply. How far would a specialist breaker bother to travel to collect an immobile one ? Would I have to pay for it to be taken away ? Could some kind person with the right contacts make a list of specialist breakers for use as a Wiki. It would save an awful lot of time slaving over a hot computer.

i have traveled 400 miles to collect a van!
depends on price/ type of van / condition /year / how it can be moved.

I guess the moral is to advertise it in this forum for the enthusiast before trying breakers. Hopefully it and I will last a few more years.

exactly!
you will prob get betwen £50 and £150 taking it to a scrap yard ,they usually worth twice that in the for sale section on an enthusiasts site.

Don't scrap it, get it restored or sell it as a project.
