Hi
My door seal replacements are well overdue...
I was wondering what is the best glue to use, rubber glue, evostick...?

I was told that the seal fits to the bottom half of the door with some plastic clips (13a in the photo)

I checked mine and it does not have clips at the moment, any advice on the best way to fit these

thanks

There are a few little clips that fit into holes in the rubber and push into holes in the doorframe. Some parts of the seal push into channels in the rubber. For the remainder I used Evo-stik impact. They have stayed in place.

skeeb wrote:umm - cant see any 13 a in the pic... the only thing that maybe 13 a is a bolt halfway up the door on the hinged side - is that what you are on about?? If it is then i believe that is the bolt that secures the down strut on the quarterlight windows - its not there to secure the seal rubber.

had to glue the door seals back on my van 2 yrs ago and i used the spray adhesive... but i didn't do a good job tbh.. bloody messy stuff... but where it did stick - it stuck well.

with regard to the clips - not sure - but i dont think so...

thanks skeeb
it was the person Im buying the seals off that mentioned the clips and when i pull the seal away from the door at the bottom there is some small holes that could hold clips, anyway ill order a few and post back.

thanks

Ordered Sikaflex? It's a polyurethane sealant, you should be able to buy it from stock at any motor factor. Tiger Seal is a comon brand, even Halfords stock that. Though the cheap version at my local factor is a third of the price...

Keith, it may not be the best idea to use Sikaflex on door seals, the re fix tape is the sort of stuff they use in the factory and in re finishing.
I am a great supporter of the use of Sikaflex but not for this type of application.. :D
