if I were to put a 2.1 engine with the stock suzuki tranny in my suzuki samurai, would it have 5 forward gears and 1 reverse or 5 reverse gears? meaning, does the vw engine rotate the same direction?

Seriously? A wbx in a bike???

I have no idea witc way the suzuki engine rotates, but the wbx rotates the same way as most other engines, so i think you should be good.

There are less than a hand full of(production) engines that rotate anty clockwise and the suzuki is not one of them.
The biggest problem there is the width of the engine will not fit.
But this question cant be seriouse :rofl

You will not be able to run the suzuki transmision in the Syncro unless you can manage too invert/rotate the diff on the suzi box to give you the correct rotation of the gears, However you can fit the 2.1 vw engine into the suzuki But that would be just mad
